Published by OMF and edited by Mich Alagao, Joyful light is a poetry anthology that reads like a bundle of love letters gifted to a weary soul. Each poem wields vivid imagery, reminding the reader of a beautiful reality that supersedes the human senses.
I found myself reading some of it’s poems again and again, relishing in the way it breathed hope through simple, yet profound lines.
I also loved how it didn’t shy away from the reality of shadows. Because of it’s truthful lines, I found comfort and was reminded of how light begets joy, even when a heart traverses a dark world.
The fact that this book was written by Filipino women made me love it more. <3
