Healing & Faith Mental Health Writing News

It’s Official: My Story Is Published ✨

My story of of postpartum depression, PTSD, and healing is now in print!

The Abalone, Vol 1 was officially released in print. It’s a beautiful magazine with 126 pages worth of stories. It was edited by Lucy Grecu and produced by The Pearl. There are 11 author contributors in this gem of a magazine, and I was blessed to be a part of it.

“I Still Have Tomorrow for You” is my very first published piece on mental health.

If you’ve been journeying with me this long, you’ll remember how I struggled with postpartum depression and how I’m still healing from PTSD after giving birth last year.

In this magazine, I share a deeply personal and graphic testimony of what it looked like to wrestle with suicidal ideations, and how Christ found me in the middle of it.

Memories had triggered me everyday, turning my life into a landscape of intrusive thoughts, anxiety attacks, and sleepless nights. But Christ had a way with helping me reframe those memories with something truer and lovelier like His presence.

Even in the worst of experiences, He remained through it all.

And though there are days when grief still resurfaces, I now look back on the night He pulled me through, promising that “I still have tomorrow for you.”

(Trigger warning: This piece touches on anxiety attacks, trauma, depression, and suicidal ideations, so please read with care and discernment).

If you’ve walked through your own dark place, I hope my testimony reminds you that memories can one day become little stars that remind you of God’s faithfulness through it all.

Have you ever looked back at something painful and realized, “God was there, too”?

I’m still learning that healing doesn’t always mean forgetting what happened. But it can mean remembering the past through a new lens. If you’ve experienced this in your own life, I’d love to hear about it in the comments. 🤍
